Saving Time On Facebook By Creating Lists

Are you spending too much time on Facebook trying to read what all your friends are up to?

Are you afraid you may have missed some statuses worth commenting on?

The more friends you have,  the greater the risk of spending too much time on Facebook or missing some messages.

I found that by grouping my friends into lists, I can save time and access important feeds as needed.

Here are the steps to creating specific lists of friends or pages. Yes! You can filter your pages as well.

  1. On the Facebook Toolbar at the top of the page, click on Friends.
  2. In the menu on the left, click on Friends, just below Lists.
  3. At the top of the list of all your friend, click on Create New List
  4. Enter the name of the list. For example: Family
  5. Select the friends or pages to include in that list.
  6. When you are done selecting, click on Create List.

Repeat as needed, for all the lists that you need. I have lists for Personal Contacts (no business at all), French VAs, VAs, English Only, Local Business Network, etc.

Now that you have these filters, Facebook will suggest that you add each new friend to one of your lists.

How can these filters help you save your precious time?

Read only the feeds of your VIPs. You can always come back and check your other lists when you have more time.
